Rules for the #FindUW Social Media Scavenger Hunt
Students can play all day for their chance to win tons of Badger prizes.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO PLAY OR WIN A PRIZE. To participate, contestants must be following UW-Madison (@UWMadison), UW First Year (@UWNewStudent) and UW VIP (@UWVIP) on Twitter (twitter.com). The #FindUW Scavenger Hunt date is September 7, 2012 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Participants must be currently enrolled UW-Madison students.
During the day of the #FindUW Scavenger Hunt, there will be a series of clues posted through Twitter by @UWMadison, @UWVIP and @UWNewstudent at designated time periods. Once a participant arrives at the physical location during the designated period, they will enter a drawing for a prize for that day’s hunt. There will be 2 grand prizes awarded and many other prizes at the end of the contest. Each time a participant finds a location, they are entered for the appropriate participation prizes as well as the grand prizes.
Additional bonus clues will also be posted through @UWMadison, @UWNewStudent and @UWVIP as well as the finduw.wisc.edu website. Participants will complete these bonus tasks as described on the website. Bonus clue winners will be contacted via Twitter and asked to supply their student @wisc.edu email address for follow-up information.
HOW TO CLAIM PRIZES: Winners will be selected in a random drawing from qualified entries received at clue locations. Winner will be notified by their wisc.edu e-mail or Twitter account 1 day after the drawing. If prize winner cannot be located within 3 days, an alternate winner will be chosen. Odds of winning are dependent on the total number of valid entries received for the #FindUW Scavenger Hunt.
ELIGIBILITY: The #FindUW Scavenger Hunt is open to all currently enrolled UW-Madison students. Employees of UW-Madison are not eligible to participate. Student employees are eligible for the scavenger hunt. Student employees of VIP and CFYE are not eligible to win grand prizes. Winners subject to proving eligibility. Void where prohibited.
GENERAL: By participating in this contest, entrants agree to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the judge. By entering the #FindUW Scavenger Hunt, contest entrants agree that they may receive, via mail or electronic mail, promotional materials from UW-Madison and/or other participating sponsors. All entries are subject to verification at the sole discretion of the sponsors, and are void and will be rejected if mailed or containing typographical, mechanical or other errors. Prize may not be transferred or assigned prior to award of prize and no substitutions are allowed, except by the contest sponsors, due to prize unavailability. Cash will not be rewarded in lieu of stated prize. Winner will be required to execute an affidavit of eligibility and release, and any applicable forms required by tax authorities. Winners are solely responsible for all applicable federal, state or local taxes. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to use the winner’s name, address (city/state) and/or likeness in advertising, promotion and public relations efforts, and winner grants UW-Madison all rights to said use, without additional compensation. Winners agree that the University of Wisconsin and their advertising, promotions, distribution, and judging agencies, affiliates and employees shall have no liability in connection with acceptance, operation, or use of the prizes awarded. The drawing is subject to all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
